PhD Scholarship- Nanomedicine (Faculty of Engineering, Monash University) Closing date: Jan 31, 2012
An opportunity exists for a suitably qualified candidate to undertake a doctoral research project in the exciting area of Nanomedicine. The project will involve the preparation of inorganic/polymeric hybrid nanoparticles for both diagnostic and therapeutic applications. Strategies for conjugating biomolecules to the nanoparticles will be examined. The formulations will be characterised using a host of state-of-the-art techniques, including high-resolution microscopy, and subsequently tested using biological cells grown in culture. Applicants with strong undergraduate and honours/Masters records in Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry or Pharmacy are encouraged to apply. The candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary ARC Super Science team, but must also have demonstrated ability to work independently and show initiative. Previous research experience is highly desirable. To apply, or for more information, please contact one of the scheme contacts.
