FREE Nanotechnology Seminar

The Melbourne Centre for Nanofabrication invites you to attend a free seminar morning at the Australian Synchrotron. Presentations by international speakers Dr Walter Riess (IBM) and Mr Brandon Van Leer (FEI) will explore the current and future nanotechnology landscape and discuss nanofabrication techniques and tools. Morning tea and refreshments will be provided.

About the speakers
Dr Walter Riess is the department head of IBM Zurich Research Laboratory and Coordinator of the Binnig and Rohrer Nanotechnology Center. Dr Reiss has extensive experience in LED displays, nanoscale structures and devices, advanced thermal packaging optics, silicon photonics, self assembly and patterning, experimental biology and molecular electronics. Dr Riess will give a broad overview of global nanofabrication trends and discuss the future of nanotechnology and emerging technologies.
Brandon Van Leer is the Business Development and Product Marketing Engineer for FEI. Brandon’s presentation will cover 3D serial acquisition using a DualBeam, reconstruction and visualisation with Avizo for FEI, and the current application space for 3D characterisation in materials science.
