Swinburne University of Technology

The ANFF Biointerface Engineering Hub at Swinburne University of Technology offers access to a wide range of capabilities that focus on the interfacing of biological systems with more traditional technologies such as electronics and material structure. Capabilities include surface modification, thin films, polymer grafting, biomolecule immobilisation and bioactive coatings in polymers, ceramics and metals.

Equipment available to ANFF users includes:

  • Plasma Polymerisation PE-CVD system for polymer coatings
  • Langmuir Blodgett Surface Coating and Analysis System (KSV-NIMA)
  • UV/Ozone Surface Cleaner
  • Multi-vessel Dipcoater for Layer-by-Layer (LbL) coatings (KSV-NIMA)
  • Dip-Pen Lithography system for direct writing of molecules on surfaces (Nanoink Nscriptor)
  • Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM) (Q-Sense E4)
  • Class 1000 Cleanroom
  • Mask Aligner (OAI model 200)
  • PC2 Laboratories for both bacterial and cell culture
  • Wide range of biochemical assays
  • Confocal Microscopy
  • Epi-fluorescence Mircroscopy
